Lee sang “The Letter” tonight on the top 11 of American Idol. The Judges loved him! Simon did however feel it was a bit corny and not a ‘current hit’ Make sure to vote for Lee– The group that makes it through tonight will be on tour this summer!

Lee sings “Beast of Burden” by the Stones

Lee stood center stage tonight with his guitar and sang a stripped down version of the Rolling Stones “Beast of Burden” Here’s what the judges had to say about his performance:

Randy- “Yo Dawg, you know what I love, you’re an amazing singer but you really came home with this for me! You did a great singer song writer thing– Dude I thought it was dope!!”

Ellen- “I thought it was great and I thought you sounded great but of all the people doing Stones tonight I expected a tiny bit more from you. It ALMOST didn’t come together–like a hospital gown–but it’s hard because there was nothing wrong with it, just a little less then I expected.”

Kara- “You are growing faster then anybody on this stage, every week you are getting better, more confident..tremendous growth!”

Simon-”I really like you and your story but I think what’s always holding you back is your personality and what’s hard is you have got an amazing voice but you’ve got to come out and have you’re moment!”

Vote for Lee!!! His number is 1-866-idols-09

Lee sings Fireflies by Owl City

Lee opened the night for the guys and he did so with an upbeat and energetic song “Fireflies” by Owl City. Playing his guitar he seemed at ease on stage. Here were the judges comments:

Randy- felt it was a strange song chioce but Lee really made it his own and made it work, he felt Lee “worked it out”

Ellen– Loved that he made it a ‘rock’ song and even though there were a few pitch problems she thinks he’s adorable and it was great!

Kara loved the confidence she saw in him and she felt he made the song a better sone with his take on it.

Simon said there was nothing to rave about– he didn’t feel there was a ‘moment’ with that song however he thinks overall Lee has a great chance at making the top 12 but he personally feels Lee is better then that song.

Vote for Lee! His number is 1-866-idols-01

Hinder singer on Lee DeWyze: ‘A front-runner with a great voice’

Hinder singer on Lee DeWyze: ‘A front-runner with a great voice’

Last night, “American Idol” Top 24 contender Lee DeWyze proved his vocal might when he took on Hinder’s “Lips of an Angel.” (Buy Lips of an Angel from Lee on iTunes)  Though the judges pointed out some minor pitch problems and a terrified look on his face, for the most part, their reaction was overwhelmingly positive. Kara DioGuardi told the 23-year-old Mount Prospect, Ill., native that his voice was a good fit for “radio right now,” Ellen DeGeneres called his performance “great,” while Simon Cowell declared that Lee was “head and shoulders above everyone else” and “may be the one to beat.” Read the Full story at the LA Times
